sukabumiNews.net, SUKABUMI REGENCY – Dozens of high school students in Sukabumi Regency participated in a mural competition organized by the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DP3A) in collaboration with the Regional Children's Forum (FAD).
The mural competition carried the theme "Stop
Violence Against Children and Women." The event took place on Monday,
August 11, 2025, and involved 25 high schools in Sukabumi Regency.
The Head of the Sukabumi Regency DP3A, Eki Radiana
Rizki, stated that the mural competition was part of a series of GEMBIRA
(Child-Friendly Creative Competition) activities held to commemorate National
Children's Day, the 80th Indonesian Independence Day, and the 155th anniversary
of Sukabumi Regency.
"This activity has been a regular event for the
past three years. We hope that through this competition, campaign messages
about child protection can be conveyed creatively," Eki told SukabumiNews
on Monday (June 11).
Eki stated that the Regional Child Protection Agency
(DP3A) is actively promoting child protection to various parties, including
schools through the Education Office, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the
Family Welfare Movement (PKK), and Dharma Wanita (Women's Family Welfare
Movement).
"We also continue to strive to foster character
development so that children become pioneers and reporters. This means that
children who are victims need not be afraid to report, either through the
Opsiga (Sub-district Child Protection Unit) established in 47 sub-districts or
directly to the UPTDTPA (Regional Child Protection Unit)," Eri explained.
Muhamad Faisal, a facilitator of the Sukabumi Regency
Regional Children's Forum, added that this mural competition is not just an
annual event, but also a concrete campaign to prevent and address violence
against children.
Faisal, who was accompanied by the Chairperson of the
FAD, Wafa Padilah, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the full
support from DP3A, which made this activity possible.
Faisal expressed his hope that similar activities
could be developed at the sub-district and village levels. He revealed that his
organization is currently working on establishing Children's Forums at the
sub-district and village levels.
"Some have already been established, and we hope
to continue expanding throughout Sukabumi Regency," he concluded.
