The West Java Special Legal Team is assisting the victims
sukabumiNews.net, SUKABUMI REGENCY – The trial of eight female students (santriwati) allegedly molested by a Quran teacher (H, 50 years old), which occurred in Curugkembar District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, in 2020, has begun.
The trial, which
included witness examination, took place at the Cicadak District Court,
Palabuhanratu, Sukabumi Regency, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. The victims were
accompanied by attorneys from the West Java Special Legal Team.
Through the Head of
the West Java Special Legal Team, Jutek Bongso, S.H., M.H., the victims hoped
that the perpetrator would receive the harshest possible sentence.
"Some asked for
a 30-year sentence, others asked for a life sentence, and even a few asked for
the death penalty," he told sukabumiNews in a written statement on
Wednesday (July 23).Previously, H was reported to the authorities in late 2024.
Despite being summoned twice to provide information, H never complied. Finally,
coercive measures were used to apprehend H outside the area.
Based on the
investigation, the sexual abuse had been going on since 2020. H is suspected of
committing these depraved acts against eight female students, both minors, at
an Islamic boarding school in Curugkembar.
The Sukabumi Police
immediately named H a suspect after the initial investigation.
