Jokowi stated that the goal of the big political agenda he has been pursuing so far is to maintain his good name during his two terms as President.
sukabumiNews.net, SOLO – The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, also known as Jokowi, believes that the ongoing issue of fake diplomas by Roy Suryo and his associates has a big political agenda.
Not only the fake diploma accusations, but reports regarding the impeachment of his eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who serves as Vice President, are also part of this plot.
"I feel there's a major political agenda behind the fake diploma and impeachment rumors," Jokowi told reporters at his private residence in Solo, Central Java, on Monday (July 14, 2025), as quoted by SukabumiNews from Liputan6.
According to the former mayor of Solo, the goal of this major political agenda is suspected to be to improve his reputation during his two terms as President of the Republic of Indonesia. However, he declined to speculate, as this is commonplace in politics.
"My political intuition tells me there's a major political agenda to tarnish his political reputation, to downgrade it. It's nothing special to me," he said.
Jokowi reiterated that the fake diploma issue and the impeachment of Vice President Gibran are a major political plot.
"Including that, the fake diploma, the impeachment of the Vice President. I think there's a big political agenda. It's normal," he said.
Leave it to the Court
As is known, regarding the fake diploma allegations, Roy Suryo and his colleagues continue to raise the issue of the former two-term president's fake diploma based on their analysis.
When asked about these allegations, Jokowi stated that the report regarding his alleged defamation related to the fake diploma accusation has now been filed in the legal realm.
The case has even progressed from an investigation to a preliminary inquiry.
"Why is that question being asked all the time? This is already under legal proceedings. I even read yesterday that it's still under investigation. Okay, let's leave it to the legal process," he said.
Jokowi chose to hand over the case to a court hearing. He also promised to show his original diploma in court.
"Let's leave it to the legal process. Then we'll see what happens in the upcoming court hearings. What's clear is that I want to show the diploma in court," he said.
Will Not Show Original Diploma to the Public
Jokowi also confirmed that his original diploma will not be shown outside of court. For this reason, he insisted that the court is the only way to show his diploma.
"No (showing the diploma outside of court). It
must be in court, a court hearing. Later, I will show my original
diploma," he emphasized.
