The match was
intense and fiercely contested. However, neither team was able to capitalize on
their chances, resulting in a goalless draw.
Thanks to this draw,
the Indonesian U-23 national team finished as Group A winners and advanced to
the semifinals. Meanwhile, Malaysia remained in third place and was eliminated.

Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, the Indonesian U-23 national team took the
initiative. Gerald Vanenburg's squad dominated possession and attacked the
Malaysian defense.
