sukabumiNews.net, SUKABUMI REGENCY – The Indonesian Minister of Environment (LH), Hanif Faisol Nurofik, inaugurated the Cimenteng Waste Utilization Site (TPSA) into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) in Cikembar District on Thursday (July 31, 2025).
Attending the
inauguration of the TPS, built by PT Semen Jawa (SCG) Sukabumi, were West Java
Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman, Sukabumi Regent Asep Japar, accompanied by
Deputy Regent Andreas, and other invited guests.
In his remarks, the
Indonesian Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisol Nurofik, emphasized that RDF
is one solution to waste management. Therefore, he appreciated PT Semen Jawa's
participation in its efforts to address waste management.
"Semen Jawa will
convert coal to waste up to 30 percent. Hopefully, this will be higher in the
future," he emphasized.
The Minister of the
Environment also encouraged the public to participate in waste sorting,
separating organic and inorganic waste. He added that waste sorting is a
crucial key to addressing environmental problems.
West Java Regional Secretary: RDF in Sukabumi Regency Could Be an Inspiration for Other Regions in West Java
West Java Regional
Secretary Herman Suryatman added that the RDF in Sukabumi Regency is an
extraordinary breakthrough. In fact, it could serve as inspiration for other
regions in West Java.
"This is an
inspiration for other regions to do the same in West Java," he said.
Regional Secretary
Herman emphasized that the waste problem must be addressed effectively and
collaboratively from upstream to downstream.
"With a united
spirit, let's do whatever it takes to protect the environment," he urged.
Sukabumi Regent Believes RDF is a Solution for Waste Management and a Role Model for Ecological Awareness
Meanwhile, Sukabumi
Regent H. Asep Japar believes that RDF, or waste-based fuel, is a solution to
addressing waste management issues in his region.
"Once the
operation to convert waste into RDF begins, the government will no longer need
to build a new landfill, and the amount of waste in Sukabumi will be
reduced," said the Regent.
Therefore, the Regent
expressed his gratitude to PT Semen Jawa (SCG) for building the waste
utilization facility in his region. This is a cutting-edge solution for
reducing the volume of waste at the TPSA.
"The presence of
the Cimenteng RDF also serves as a role model in building ecological awareness,
a collaborative movement between the government, the private sector, and the
community in building a clean, green, and truly beneficial future," he
said.
